A strong cinema community

Nowadays, media covers everything, anything you want to talk about is already being discussed by some strangers on the internet. That is, for those who love listening other´s people opinion, a great opportunity to learn and share information.

Cinema is not an exception. Such a big industry is of course a topic frequently talked about on social media. Let us see how the big apps addresses it.

YouTube, the closest social media to cinema due to its format, contains thousands of channels that share this art. Reviews, compilations, tributes; anything can be found about any relatively known film. Here two of the channels that I often watch: “Chris Stuckmann” and “The beauty of”. The first uploads reviews about films. Christopher Stuckmann, an American filmmaker, film critic, and YouTuber, gives his opinion about thousands of movies. The second only talks about cinematography. In fact, there is no even talking. This channel puts together the best scenes of each movie and creates an epic video with them. Here I let you one of their works, so you can make an idea of how inspiring is this content.

Moving on to Instagram, the social media I use the most, I would like to highlight another account that talks about the aspect of the films. @colopalette.cinema (1.4 million followers) posts images of certain scenes of movies and its colour palette. Besides, on the description of the photo you can find information about everybody that has worked on that specific look. If search for the hashtag #cinemareview, you can find over 8000 publications about cinema and reviews.

I would have written about more social media but these two are the only where I usually spend my time.
