I have always considered myself as science guy. Physics, mathematics… the rules that, from the abstraction, describe how the world works. Once you dive in this philosophy you see nothing apart equations and numbers. A ball falling will never be the same.
Christopher Nolan has the best of both worlds. Interestellar, one of his masterpiece. Seeing two of my passions together was something I thought it was impossible. Not only because of the passion transmitted, but because how much this movie theorizes, all its innovative thinking about space travelling.
Inception ensured my love for this great director. Movies that make you think beyond the plot worth their value, and that´s how Nolan works.
Dunkirk was the movie that fascinated me. It demonstrated that it is not only science what makes this director so internationally known.
And what about Tenet, his last and most controversial film. Premiered a month ago it has created a lot of talk. Science and a complex plot are not missing, and it is all what the movie is about. No deep characters and no complex motivations, just a protagonist against a villain involving reversed entropy. However, makes you think about its plot days after watching it.
Making awesome what may be boring and talking about science with such a calculated rhythm are some of the reasons that make me consider Nolan as a genius, an inspiration.
